Drawing on his background in pirate media and clubbing, Mark Waugh's debut novel builds a complex, fragmentary picture of postmodern philosophy spliced with music, dancing and brand recognition. Entertaining and refreshingly perceptive, Come is destined for cult classic status. Dolly Savage is the inflatable doll in the movie River's Edge. In Mark 0 and Mark 1's digital text she achieves cult icon status as an international movie star. A limited edition version of the book is also available with a cover CD featuring music from Anti@lias and Overcoat. |

Mark Waugh is a notorious Brighton based media mercenary who first became known through his Super 8 projections at free parties featuring the then unknown Carl Cox. His subsequent missions have included events such as 'Pharmakon 92', a symposium on drugs that blew the lid on media hysteria towards drugs and included contributions from David Toop, Stelarc, Steve Beard, Frazer Clarke and Genesis P. Orridge. Most of his energy comes from working with like minded friends in clubland, where he has been artistic director of a series of successful residencies at Brighton's Zap Club including Fun Da Mental, Pow Wow and Die Lieber Rausch. |
