Surfing a wave of plastic-coated 70s memorabilia, Stumble depicts the joys, fears and obsessions of childhood, adolescence and early adulthood. As the curator of one of his art shows said,"Maynard rummages through the skip of pop cultutre in an ongoing deconstruction of nostalgia and domesticity, fashion and the banal."

 Launch event 
19 May 1999 at Burro, Floral St, Covent Garden, 7pm
a party and private view of the author's paintings. Stumble is also the title of this solo show of new paintings by Adam j Maynard (a follow-up to his successful Burro exhibition in 1997). The paintings will remain on display over the summer.




   Born in 1971, Adam j Maynard studied art at Goldsmiths, and has exhibited in numerous London group and solo shows. He has contributed to Tank magazine, EM, Purple and the Pulp Faction anthologies, as well as the Art Box project and Words And Pictures. He lives in Deptford, South East London.
