Hypertext uses links to connect different documents, which could be in any digital media (pictures, sound, etc). This opens up new degrees of freedom for fiction writers, and for readers. Babylondon aims to explore some of the possibilities.
London has always been a difficult one to approach in writing because of its size and multiplicity, but these are qualities that make it a particularly suitable subject for collaborative work. In Babylondon, coincidence and cross-current are brought into play in parallel strata, as one writer's words strike a chord with another's and lead off on a different path.
